Maddy This cute girl is about 1 year old, 15 lb and what a sweetheart. She loves people - is very friendly and also great with kitties. She does not do well with other dogs, though. Something has obviously happened to her in her previous life that has made her fear other dogs. Maddy likes going for car rides, walks in the garden, helping out with daily chores or just sitting with you (or in your lap) and watching the world go by. She gets the poodle zoomies and likes to play with toys. She is medium-high energy. Not a barker at all. She is crate trained too. Maddy has been spayed, shots updated, wormed and microchipped. She is ready and waiting for her new home but it must be as an only canine child. She would love to have a yard to explore but requires to be an indoor dog. No small children. Austin Austin is searching for a home to call his very own - one with at least one lap to sit on, arms to carry him around and a warm bed at night. Austin was a stray at a local animal shelter. His teeth were in horrible condition - his first trip was to visit our vet for a major dental visit which included 13 extractions. Yes, he still has plenty of teeth with which to eat! He feels so much better now. His bottom canines tend to stick out a little, giving him an adorable look! Austin is mild mannered, medium energy, lovely temperament and gets along with other dogs his size and with kitties. Baby Another sweetie! Baby is a poodle/terrier mix with a beautiful apricot colored coat. He was relinquished to our rescue as his family did not have sufficient means to care for him. Baby is used to being a family pet and is house-trained. He is very people oriented - loves people, although not tested with children. Good with respectful dogs and great with kitties. He will not need as much grooming as a pure-bred poodle. Baby is 7 years old, crate trained, great on a lead and in the car and knows some basic obedience. He loves to sit on your lap and hang out with you. He is approximately 20lb. Baby is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped and has had a dental cleaning. Bentley This little boy will worship the person who becomes his mom or dad. He has had such a rough start in life but is so forgiving. All he wants is someone to love and care for him and he will give unconditional love in return! He attaches very quickly to anyone who gives him attention. Great with other dogs his size who want to play. Loves kitties. High energy. Bentley is a from a local shelter where animal control had picked him up as a stray. He had been thrown from a moving vehicle, but luckily it was witnessed by a good samaritan who called in the incident. Animal control was able to get him and take him to safety. He was bruised and battered, but no broken bones. Terribly matted and full of foxtails in his ears, eyes and body. He has had to endure 4 surgeries to remove all the embedded foxtails. He has some scars, but seems incredibly healthy and happy after so much trauma. Bentley is about 1 year of age, a poodle or poodle mix with a soft white coat. He weighs about 12 lb, is a miniature poodle size with long legs and a natural tail. Bentley has been neutered, microchipped, wormed and shots up dated. He is crate trained and needs someone to house-train him. He loves to play with toys and especially likes to fetch his toys for you. No small children, please. Cross-Posting: Donnie Want a lab packed into a 9lb body? Well, Donnie is the dog for you! He fetches like crazy and even places the ball in your hand when he brings it back to you. Donnie appears to be about 8 -10 months old and a Maltese/Shitzu mix! He was rescued from the Downey SEAACA shelter after being picked up as a stray. He loves his daily walks and walks nicely on leash. He has never met a stranger and is sweet and submissive to all dogs. He is great with cats and loves kids too. Donnie relaxes every muscle in his body when picked up and when he rests his head on your chest he gazes up into your eyes. He has beautiful golden eyes and the longest eye lashes I have ever seen, they are at least an inch long. I've only heard him bark once in the month that I've had him here. This little guy is a treasure. Where ever we go people stop me and ask what breed he is, he is that unusual looking. The picture doesn't pick up the gorgeous blond streaks in his taupe-colored coat- they actually look like they were professionally done!!! Dougie Dougie is a neutered male Poodle or Bichon mix. He weighs about 10lbs and is approximately 6-8 yrs old; he's up to date on all vaccinations. He has short legs and a long body, looks like some dachshund contributed some DNA :) Poor Dougie was picked up as a stray on the streets of LA. He was licensed in LA County and microchipped, so the shelter contacted his owners, but they never came for him. Dougie is one of those dogs that makes you wonder how he ever ended up in a shelter, how anyone could abandon him. He even had an ID tag on his collar with an address and phone number! He's getting a dental & some extractions this Friday. After he recovers he'll be available for adoption. Dougie inherited the Poodle or Bichon hair so he should be good for allergies. He is as sweet and easy as they get. He's house trained and has never had an accident in the house. He doesn't mark either. He loves nice leisurely walks and really just wants to cuddle. He is a mellow little guy, so easy to care for and love! He doesn't like to be left alone, so he would be good for someone who isn't at work all day. He'd love to have a canine best buddy to live with. He is quite bonded to Donnie - also listed here - and doesn't leave his side for anything. He has never met a stranger and is great with all dogs, kids and cats. His long tail never stops wagging! Dougie is with Bay Area Poodle Rescue, but he is in a Long Beach foster home.
